Jeannie Mai Receives Backlash For Siding With T.I. About Taking Daughter To The Gyno
While fans went off on T.I. after he admitted he takes his daughter to her annual OB-GYN appointments to make sure she’s still a virgin, Jeannie Mai of daytime talk show The Real agreed with him.
The ladies of the show discussed T.I.’s controversial topic, and Jeannie was one of the only hosts who defended him.
“I support what T.I. is doing because I understand how hard it must be to communicate with an opposite gender, a daughter, especially in this time, especially with what he must have seen and known, you know, of what boys are like. For me, I was a very wild girl. I didn’t like rules, I rebelled a lot.”
She then referenced her father who was sitting in the audience and said she often snuck her boyfriend in her room and while her dad knew, he never said anything to her (even though he almost caught her once).
See it at the 2:44 mark.
She went on to ask T.I. what he’s so concerned about when it comes to his daughter having sex.
“Whatever it is, he needs to speak it with her.”
See that in the second clip.
After the episode aired, many fans took to Twitter to express their disappointment and Jeannie’s perspective.

You cannot call yourself a women’s rights advocate & support the invasion of this young woman’s right to her body. That’s not how this works @jeanniemai sorry. pic.twitter.com/3UQooNYWvd
