Shaquille O’Neal Celebrates Ribbon-Cutting Of His 22-Story, $80 Million Residential Building In New Jersey
What can’t Shaq do? NBA champion Shaquille O’Neal recently celebrated his latest business venture – a 22 story, $80 million residential building in his hometown of Newark, New Jersey. The beautiful units are already being regarded as a hot-spot for New York commuters. Developers celebrated the official ribbon cutting ceremony for the building yesterday, (11/19/19) and Shaq, himself, even has a penthouse suite in the building!
Shaquille O’Neal told NJ Advance Media:
“It’s going to go down as the most historic building in Newark. Second of all, it’s going to continue to beautify our city.”

According to the former Laker’s development partner, Wasseem Boraie, “Shaq Towers” is 60% leased. He commented:
“It’s been a long journey and it’s one of those things that if you really aren’t committed you never would have done what we did. You gotta believe in your product, in your city and in your public partners and the private partners that are there with you. Development is not a sole practitioner sport, it’s absolutely a team sport.”
50 Rector Park is a slam dunk when it comes to amenities. The building boasts rooftop cabanas, grills, a gym, and it’s star quality is its perfect view across the river to New York City. Leases range from $1800 – $2700, with garage parking for $150 per month.
Congratulations, Shaq!
