Stephen A. Smith Goes Off After Terrell Owens Questions His Blackness ‘You Ain’t The Only Brother Out There In The Streets’ [VIDEO]
Terrell Owens questioned Stephen A. Smith’s Blackness on ESPN, and Stephen A. Smith was NOT here for it.
While on “ESPN’s First Take”, Terrell Owens said White host Max Kellerman “almost seems blacker than” Stephen A. Smith.
“Time out… I’m a check you right now. You done crossed the line. First of all, like I said, you, Colin Kaepernick, Eric Reid… any of y’all that wanna debate me in front of Black people and talk about what’s best for Black people, name the time and place, I’ll show up.”
He then asked,
“What’s the definition of Blackness? Is there a definitive definition of Blackness? Why are you giving the impression that because I don’t march lock-step with every, single thing Colin Kaepernick wants…”
While Terrell Owens said he doesn’t necessarily agree with everything Colin Kaepernick has done, Smith wanted to address the comment he made about his Blackness.
“You ain’t the only brother out there that’s in the streets. I’m in the streets every day…”
He then revealed that he extended an invite to Colin Kaepernick to come on the show and share his piece. He said he gave Kaepernick the opportunity to edit the show, go live, and do what he wanted to do. He said he also invited Eric Reid, Kaepernick’s friend and former teammate who he also went at it with this week.
Owens said he didn’t mean any disrespect.
The back-and-forth comes after Smith called out Kaepernick after Kaepernick made last-minute changes to his highly-anticipated workout with the NFL and called out the league.
Max Kellerman later defended Kaepernick.
Smith also went head-to-head with Eric Reid about it.
