Fabolous Opens Up About Disturbing Video Between Him And Emily B: It Looks Crazy, We Had To Deal With It Internally

It’s been nearly two years since a disturbing video between Fabolous and his longtime girlfriend Emily B and her father surfaced in March 2018.

The rapper turned himself in and was arrested for aggravated assault and making a terroristic threat. The video also came just weeks after Emily B reportedly claimed that Fabolous allegedly assaulted her and knocked out two of her teeth.

Now, he’s speaking out about it.

He opened up about his personal issues going public and said,

“That was different for me because I’m just more to myself. Even with my family and my personal life… it’s usually handled inside; it’s not really with opinions and comments and family members involved and them reacting to everything that’s coming into…”

Despite the video making headlines, he said he and Emily B

“had to deal with it internally. It wasn’t about dealing with it publicly. That’s where I put my energy and focus into… dealing with it internally. I think publicly, everybody’s gonna have their opinions, there’s gonna be speculation, there’s gonna be ‘Oh what really happened?’ But the clarity that I was looking for was inside more than anything. That’s the people that I have to deal with every day. Those are the people that I care about, that I love, that I want to make sure that they are clear on what’s going on. So that’s what I really focused on. I didn’t really focus on what was going on on the outside. I knew a lot was spiraling… you know, it’s a story and it’s something that people want to know what’s going on. But at the same time, it wasn’t my job to worry about them more than my people.”

When asked what he had to change internally after the video went viral he said,

“Looking at the video is different from being inside of it. From the video’s point, it looks crazy…We knew what was going on in that. I’m not gonna speak and pull it out to be a story for more. I don’t even really like engaging in it without Emily being involved. It’s not a thing where I’m trying to excuse myself or anything of that nature. It was really more of like an internal thing with us going through the motion of what was happening, our emotions… it could’ve been a lot of things that was building up within our relationship, within our family, and I just dealt with those things.”

He added,

“It wasn’t about the video or who put out the video, it was more about us getting back to the place that we needed.”

He also had a message for his fans who were disappointed about the clip.

“I apologize for coming across in a light that I wouldn’t want to be represented in. I don’t know anything else to really… people make their opinions and it’s hard to, after the fact, change somebody’s opinion on seeing a video of something. All I can really do is apologize for being in a light that’s not showing my best self.”

Now, it looks like Emily B and Fabolous have worked out their issues and are still going strong.
