Barack Obama & Donald Trump Are Tied For The Most Admired Man In The Country

Welp!

Former President Barack Obama is one of the most likable presidents to date. And while President Donald Trump has faced lots of drama lately (including a recent impeachment), the two commanders-in-chief are tied for the most admired man in the United States.

Barack Obama has garnered the title for 12 years in a row in the annual poll by Gallup. But this year, he’ll be sharing the honor with the current president. The poll, which took place from Dec. 2 through Dec. 15, included 18% of those responding checking off Donald Trump as the most admirable man. Another 18% of respondents said their #1 was Barack Obama.

As for the party breakdown, 41% of respondents who identified as Democrats selected Barack Obama, while 45% of Republicans chose Donald Trump. Those in the Independent party were tied.

Barack Obama’s wife Michelle Obama holds the title for the most admired woman in 2019. She received 10% of votes from respondents this year, compared to 15% of respondents who said she was the most admired woman in 2018. As for Trump’s wife, Melania Trump, 5% of respondents said she was the most admired woman.

Hillary Clinton, Oprah Winfrey and climate control activist Greta Thunberg received 3% of votes.

Back in July, Michelle Obama was voted the most admired woman in the world, and Donald Trump was touted as the most admired man in the world. Back then, he was named the #2 most admired man in the country. So it looks like he’s gained some popularity since then.

Barack earned the #2 spot for the most admired man in the world over the summer.
