DaBaby Explains Footage Of Him Pushing Hotel Worker, Says He Secretly Recorded A Video Of Him & His Daughter
DaBaby has spoken out after footage of him getting physical with an employee of a Beverly Hills hotel last month surfaced.
In a 42-second video, courtesy of TMZ, DaBaby is seen walking into what appears to be a lobby of the hotel behind the worker. Once inside, DaBaby points to something off-camera and pushes down the employee before a chair catches the man’s fall. DaBaby then gets closer to the man and points his finger in his face as he walks out.
His lawyer released a statement Saturday (Jan. 18):
“Any actions taken by DaBaby were likely in self defense based upon his recall of the events and until the video is thoroughly reviewed we have no further comment at this time.”
But now, DaBaby has made a statement of his own on Instagram, stating that he pushed down the man because his daughter’s safety was at risk.
“That hotel worker you see me ‘pushing’ came up to me outside the hotel & asked could he record a video of me while I was holding my 2 year old daughter. I calmly and respectfully said no and explained to him that him posting a video of me at the time would compromise the safety of me and my child by letting social media know where we were staying.”
He added that the employee allegedly kept trying to get footage anyway.
“After being told no still being on the clock at work he walked to the other side of the parking lot maybe 50 feet away and zoomed in while recording a video of me and my daughter on Snapchat after I politely asked him not to and gave him an explanation as to why I didn’t want him to.”
He went on to say he gave his daughter to his uncle and walked over the employee, who was allegedly typing his SnapChat caption.
As for the moment caught in the video, DaBaby added,
“Upon entering the hotel I made him sit down and understand the fact that NO video is worth the safety of my child being compromised. Especially after I politely explained to him the reasoning behind me saying no. Not to mention the fact that he is at work and his job is to valet park cars not record customers and violate their privacy which I’m 100% sure is against employee policy at the Hotel.”
He added that his number one concern is being a father more than anything else.
He ended with one more message before signing his stage name.
