Aoki Lee Simmons Shares Cryptic Message To Oprah Winfrey Amid Docu Scandal Involving Her Dad, Russell Simmons: “You Don’t Even Know How Mad Oprah Makes Me!”
Oprah Winfrey isn’t exactly invited to the Simmons family’s dinner table right now. Late last year, word spread that the media mogul had signed on to executive produce a documentary centered around the story of one of Def Jam Records founder, Russell Simmons‘, multiple accusers. Russell Simmons immediately publicly slammed Oprah for her involvement.

Oprah Winfrey recently sat down with her best friend Gayle King on “CBS This Morning,” announce her withdrawal from the documentary. She insists pressure from Russell had nothing to do with it:
“Before the public pressure had started, before Russell had gone with his Instagram, I had gone to the filmmakers and I had said to them ‘Houston I think we have a problem here.’ New information had come forward the very first time this was announced, and I said I think we need to pull out of Sundance, and if we can’t pull out of Sundance I’m gonna have to take my name off. I don’t want to have to take my name off because it’s gonna be a big… pull out of Sundance cause I don’t care about awards, I just care about getting it right. I think there’s some inconsistencies in stories that we need to look at…I believe the women’s voices deserve to be heard, and as an executive producer, I also was in a position were not right…What this has taught me is don’t put your name on anything you don’t have creative control over.”
“This is not a victory for Russell! I unequivocally say that I did not pull out for Russell. This is not a victory lap for him. I cannot be silenced by Russell Simmons after all I’ve been through. And also, I spent three years on trial trying to protect the girls at my school who had accused a dorm parent of sexual assault. Three years on trial and nobody believed them.”
Russell Simmon’s daughter, 17-year-old Aoki Lee Simmons, isn’t here for Oprah’s statements about her father. She allegedly posted this photo of she and her 20-year-old sister, Ming Lee Simmons, with the following caption:
“You don’t even know how mad Oprah makes me”

Oop! His niece, Angela Simmons, has also spoken out against her uncle’s sexual assault allegations.

She said:
“To be clear i don’t believe my uncle is capable of being what the media is saying…”
Yikes! What do you think about the Simmons family’s responses to Russell’s spat with Oprah Winfrey? Let us know in the comments.
