Nick Gordon Died From Heroin Overdose

The cause of death for Nick Gordon, the ex-boyfriend of Bobbi Kristina Brown, has been ruled a heroin overdose.

The medical examiner’s office for Districts 5 & 24 in Florida conducted the tests, according to CNN Thursday (Feb. 6).

Caffeine, morphine, and naloxone, which is a drug that combats opioid overdoses, were reportedly in his system a well.

It was previously reported that Nick Gordon passed away at 30-years-old on New Year’s Day. An autopsy was conducted within 24 hours.

His lawyer, Joe Habachy, said Nick Gordon had been trying to overcome his issue with substance abuse.

“He worked hard to hold his head up and stay sober and … he genuinely wanted a happy healthy life with his family more than anything else. My heart goes out to the family and friends Nick leaves behind and to any other families dealing with the losses and heartache caused by drugs.”

Reports also said he survived a heroin overdose just weeks before he passed.

Nick Gordon was in a long-term romance with Bobbi Kristina Brown, the only daughter of late iconic singer Whitney Houston and R&B legend Bobby Brown.

Unfortunately, his passing comes more than five years after Bobbi Kristina Brown was found unconscious in a bathtub of her and Gordon’s Rosewell, Ga. home in January 2015. She tragically died the following summer after being in a medically-induced coma for roughly six months. Her cause of death was ruled as drug intoxication and immersion of water. She suffered pneumonia and brain damage.

Her family pointed the finger at Gordon and he was found liable for the incident and ordered to pay $36 million after he was MIA for two hearings in the civil case.

Her mother, Whitney Houston, passed away after being discovered unresponsive in a bathtub on Feb. 11, 2012.

Prayers for Nick Gordon’s family, friends and loved ones!
