Dwyane Wade Recalls Telling Gabrielle Union He Had A Child With Another Woman: Hardest Thing I Ever Had To Do

On his upcoming documentary “D. Wade: Life Unexpected”, Dwyane Wade opens up about having to tell Gabrielle Union, that he had a child with another woman.

Prior to meeting Gabrielle Union, the former NBA star had two children from his previous marriage, and a nephew that he took care of (Zaire, 18, and Zaya, 12, and Dahveon, 18).

He and Gabrielle Union reportedly began dating in 2009.

He had a child with former Basketball Wives Aja Métoyer in 2013.

Reportedly, at the time, Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade were not together and shortly after he proposed.

In the documentary he reportedly explains,

“I had a child with someone else and I had to tell her. Hardest thing I’ve ever had to do is man up and tell Gabrielle Union that I’ve had a child with somebody else. I couldn’t sleep. I wasn’t eating. When you hold something in that you know is going to come out and you have this information and you know it’s gonna f**k somebody’s life up, that you care about, that you love, if it don’t hurt you, then you’re not human. Me and Gab just went through something that you never want to go through and we still came out of it.”

The pair married in 2014.

They welcomed their daughter Kaavia via surrogate in 2018.
