Pop Smoke — LAPD Reportedly Relating His Home Invasion To Gang Affiliation
Details are developing in the case of slain rapper, Pop Smoke. The Los Angeles Police Department reportedly believes his fatal home invasion Wednesday morning (Feb. 19) was gang-related. During a hearing in January related to a case regarding a stolen Rolls-Royce, law enforcement noted his affiliation to the Crips gang, according to YAHOO! Whether his killing correlated with his previous case has yet to be discovered.
According to TMZ, surveillance footage showed that Pop Smoke’s home invasion was not a robbery-gone-wrong, but a targeted event. Four men entered the home, rented from “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Teddi Mellencamp, and shot the 20-year-old rapper to death. Though he showcased expensive gifts and briefly showed his home address on Instagram, the intruders left with nothing.
It was previously reported that his brother and rumored housemate vehemently denied any involvement.
Our condolences go out to the family and friends of Pop Smoke.
