Usher Previews “Confessions, Pt. III,” Fans Speculate What The Song Is About [LISTEN]
It’s been 17 years since the release of singer, Usher‘s, iconic chart-topping album, “Confessions.” The R&B staple covered a range of topics like cheating, one-night-stands, and unplanned pregnancy – which, allegedly, spawned a messy breakup with TLC singer, Rozanda “Chilli” Thomas. However, the lyrics to “Confessions, Pt. II” reportedly stem from producer, Jermaine Dupri‘s, personal experience – not Usher’s!
To fans’ delight, Usher’s back with a highly-anticipated follow-up, “Confessions, Pt. III.” He recently performed an intimate set for the Cricket Wireless series, in which he previewed the third installment of the song series. In it, he explains that this song is coming from the woman’s perspective:
“Here’s the catch: it wasn’t my confession that made up ‘Pt. III.’ She had something to tell me…”
“She said, Remember that time I was sittin’ up sick / couldn’t sleep in the middle of the night? / You said, ‘Bae, lemme take you to the ER’ / I said, ‘Nah, I’mma be alright’ / Well the next day I found out from f*ckin’ around that the sickness I had was life / And I was fixed to keep the decision to get rid of it / Live with it, he don’t know, you don’t know / I had to deal with it”

The story seemingly details that while Usher sang about “having a baby by a woman that he barely even knew” in “Confessions, Pt. II” – the woman he was in a relationship with had a secret abortion for a child conceived by another man. However, fans and trolls alike seem to be fixated on Usher’s alleged herpes scandal from 2017.
