Chris Rock Is Single! Actor & Megalyn Echikunwoke Break Up After 4 Years

Chris Rock is back on the market. The funny guy and his now ex-girlfriend, actress Megalyn Echikunwoke have called it quits after four years, according to Page Six.

They appeared to be going strong but reportedly broke up because he didn’t want to settle down after his 18-year marriage to Malaak Compton-Rock, which ended in 2016.

He previously confessed that he was unfaithful during his nearly two decades of being married. He said in 2018,

“It’s my fault, because I’m a f***ing a**hole. I didn’t listen, I wasn’t kind. I just thought I was the s***, man.

When guys cheat, we want something new. But then, you know what happens? Your woman finds out and now she’s new. She’s never the same again. Now you got new, but you got a bad new.”

Still, before their divorce was finalized, he moved on with the “Almost Family” star, and she reportedly moved into his new Jersey home.

Rumors swirled in the fall of 2016 that she and Chris Rock were engaged, but it didn’t take long for her to deny it.

“Definitely not. Oh no, am I going to get in trouble for this? Why would anyone think that? I’ve never worn an engagement ring. This right here is my alleged engagement ring, which is obviously not an engagement ring so just an FYI. It’s a pearl. It’s not even a diamond.”

She also played coy about Chris Rock and added,

“What can I say? I have a boyfriend. He’s a comedian. He’s funny. He’s really wonderful. He’s a very dreamy guy, and I’m a lucky girl.”

Interestingly enough, she wasn’t all for marriage. She continued,

“I’m actually not a huge believer in marriage. If he made a really good case for it, I guess … I guess there’s this misconception about once you’re engaged how could you possibly want anything more than marriage and kids. It’s kind of like lock down a rich guy. I’m here to say that there’s more to life than that, and this common lame notion that that’s all a girl could possibly want in life is completely bulls–t. So, I mean, I have a boyfriend who I love and that’s all I need.”
