Cory Booker Backs Joe Biden For President, While His GF Rosario Dawson Supports Bernie Sanders w/ Cryptic Message

It looks like Senator Cory Booker and his girlfriend, actress Rosario Dawson, have a house divided.

Cory Booker, who dropped out of the race for President in January, has officially announced his support for candidate Joe Biden. 

He wrote on Instagram Monday (March 9),

“The answer to hatred & division is to reignite our spirit of common purpose. @joebiden won’t only win – he’ll show there’s more that unites us than divides us. He’ll restore honor to the Oval Office and tackle our most pressing challenges. That’s why I’m proud to endorse Joe.”

He also explained his decision on CBS This Morning. 

“What I’m excited about is to hear Joe Biden even growing in enthusiasm, because he’s always talking about it, and understanding the issues of race and frankly, racial reconciliation and racial justice…even saying things now about choosing a black woman on the Supreme Court.”

He continued,

“I’m happy about the diversity of our nation. I’m happy to see the coalitions that Joe Biden is building. And I’m happy that I know confidently that he’s gonna govern in a way that brings us together as a nation across racial, religious and even party lines, to begin to do the business. Because we know now more than ever, our adversaries from China to Russia are building in strength and determination to undermine our democracy. Our divisions as a country is our weakness. We need the candidate that can best unify all of us, and is Joe Biden.”

Still, his girlfriend of roughly a year has a different political stance.

She said in a lengthy post on Instagram Monday (March 9),

“Not Me Us
I got to vote for Bernie again and I did. Whoever it is that you’re supporting I hope that you are doing it consciously, with heart and with a ballot. Talking about things helps but actions speak louder than words. To all of you on the sidelines, we need you. Please register and vote. Make this election one for the history books. Turn out needs to be historic to drive home the message that we stand for something bigger and better than what we have now. That we truly stand for each other. Earthizen Humanity First!”

She went on to plead,

“Please-No more bullying. No more mocking. No more trolling. We can be better than that so why not be? Let our decency, honesty and humanity ring loud and true. It’s much more constructive, believe me. March to the polls and let’s make sure folks are registered and able to vote by any means necessary.”

She ended with,

“PS: Upset about our primary/electoral system? Elections and much else (equity much?) aren’t fair. Voter suppression efforts like redistricting, gerrymandering and voter purging (among many other issues) have long since made that clear. That’s why voting is only one of many ways we can transform our system for the better (fill out your census!). So please stay in the game, no matter what, and continue the fight our ancestors fought with fewer means and resources, not just so that we could bicker on social media, but so that we could continue to improve conditions for each other and make the path that much better, healthier and clearer for the generations to come. Blessings to you all. #NotMeUs“

She also shared a cryptic quote that reads,

“Absolute thinking is very dangerous regardless of political leaning. You are either all in or the enemy. The enemy is always wrong. Anyone who helps the enemy is the enemy. We are never wrong. Don’t agree with us you are the enemy.”
