Diddy also revealed that his team was afraid for his life after the shocking killing of his best friend and rapper Notorious B.I.G. (real name Christopher Wallace).
He said,
“The day I made ‘Missing You’ was the first day I went out the house. First, they went and hid me upstate somewhere. They were concerned about me, like my family, for like two weeks.”
Meanwhile, just last year Fat Joe opened up about possibly retiring.
He said amid the Dec. 6 release of his Family Ties album,
“I’m almost out of here. I think I’m retiring. It’s time to give it up. I’m tryin gto walk off on it… The Kobe Bryant, the Obama drop the mic and just walk off. I might be. I’m really there. I’ve never felt like this is my life.”
.@FatJoe revealed he's considering retiring from music to spend more time with his daughter.
"My love for hip hop is crazy… And I've got mad at all the other rappers who said they're retiring and they came back… I'm like at 85% gone." https://t.co/5yT3ENXOO9 @vladduthiersCBS pic.twitter.com/sNyx8A9e1X

He went on to say his 14-year-old daughter Azariah was also a factor.
“I really want to watch my daughter. I really wanna take her to school every day. Watch her, make sure she’s like… That’s really the conflict… Little girls, 13, 14, very impressionable right now. So I want to make sure every time she turns around, her dad is there when she looks around and I’m there for her. “
He added that producer Andre Lyon who was nearby doesn’t believe his claims,
“My love for Hip Hop is crazy. He doesn’t believe me. He’s never heard me say this. I’ve got mad at all the other rappers who said they’re retiring and they came back. No, I’m a strong advocate against that. So…I’ve been flirting with it. I’m like a 85 percent gone.”
But even after retirement, he plans on hitting the stage,
“We’d be broke. If I don’t tour, I’m broke.”
