Michelle Obama Lands ‘Becoming’ Docu On Netflix, Scheduled For May 6 Release
Former First Lady Michelle Obama is spreading joy to the world once again. The 56-year-old author has partnered with Netflix to release a documentary detailing her life and several moments throughout her latest book tour.
In a statement, Michelle Obama noted:
I’m excited to let you know that on May 6, Netflix will release BECOMING, a documentary film directed by Nadia Hallgren that looks at my life and the experiences I had while touring following the release of my memoir.

She continued:
Those months I spent traveling — meeting and connecting with people in cities across the globe — drove home the idea that what we share in common is deep and real and can’t be messed with. In groups large and small, young and old, unique and united, we came together and shared stories, filling those spaces with our joys, worries, and dreams. We processed the past and imagined a better future. In talking about the idea of ‘becoming,’ many of us dared to say our hopes out loud.
She also spoke on the documentary via Instagram Monday (April 27th).

Her book Becoming sold 15 million copies just 15 days after its highly-anticipated release in 2018. This time last year, it was nabbed as the highest-selling memoir.
As of late, Michelle has partnered with the likes of producer Babyface and Teddy Riley to encourage people to vote, hosted a read-along series on PBS Kids for children, and has been the topic of conversation as a possible running mate for Democratic Joe Biden discussion.
