Meghan Markle Hired Princess Diana’s Lawyer In Lawsuit Against British Tabloid
Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle is calling on the royalty of the past for help in her lawsuit against the British tabloid, The Daily Mail. Meghan Markle has reportedly hired her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana of Wales‘, lawyer – David Sherborne – to represent her in the court battle. He has a vetted clientele, including David and Victoria Beckham, Harry Styles, and Elton John. His law firm, 5RB, issued this statement on their official website:
“He [David Sherbone] is also acting for HRH The Duchess of Sussex in her misuse of private information, breach of data protection, and infringement of copyright action against Associated Newspapers.”
As previously reported, Meghan Markle is suing The Daily Mail and the Associated Newspapers for publishing excerpts of private letters she sent her father in 2018. David Sherborne and 5RB allege that this:
“…violates privacy, copyright, and data protection laws in the United Kingdom.”
Meghan and Prince Harry have cut off the British papers’ access to them for good. One insider previously said:
“…[they won’t] offer themselves up as currency for an economy of click bait and distortion.”
Sources close to the Royals have confirmed that if Meghan Markle wins her lawsuit, damages will be donated to anti-bullying charities.
