Former WWE Star Shad Gaspar Confirmed Dead After Getting Lost In The Ocean
Update #2 (May 20): Sad news concerning the case of former WWE star Shad Gaspar. He has been confirmed dead just days after he went missing at an L.A. beach.
The LAFD confirmed the news, stating that a body, that the LA County Coroner identified as Shad Gaspar, had been recovered from Venice Beach.
Original Story: Yesterday (May 17), while swimming at Venice Beach in Los Angeles with his 10-year-old son, former WWE star Shad Gaspard disappeared. According to reports and an eye witness, Shad Gaspard and his son were unable to swim back to dry land after becoming caught in a current. When a lifeguard swam out to rescue the pair, Shad Gaspard directed the guard to rescue his son first. When the lifeguard returned to rescue Gaspard, an eye witness said the 39-year-old athlete had disappeared after he was struck by an incoming wave.
Gaspard’s wife, Siliana Gaspard, shared the news with her followers on Instagram. In her IG Stories post, Siliana asked for anyone who has seen her husband to message her. She also asked for people to not overload her DM with questions. She wrote,
“Last seen wearing shorts…If you have seen Shad, please message me. Please don’t flood me asking what happened. We want to know if he’s been seen and where. Thank you.”

According to Us Weekly, a member of the Los Angeles Fire Department informed TMZ that they fear that Gaspard may have submerged in the water.
Gaspard was a former professional wrestler for WWE (2003-2010). He was a member of the tag team Cryme Tyme with his partner, Jayson Anthony Paul (a.k.a. JTG). The Brooklyn Native also has acting credits under his belt from his roles in Get Hard and Think Like A Man Too. In 2009, Gaspard married fitness model and athlete Siliana Gaspard. The two share one child together, a son.
