Azealia Banks Begs Ice Cube To Vouch For Her In Missing Royalties Battle W/ Her Former Label Head

Rapper Azealia Banks is calling on a veteran in music for help with her controversial career. While revealing her alleged affair with comedian Dave Chappelle last month, Azealia Banks shared that she doesn’t feel supported by Black men in the industry when she’s attacked by the media. She said:

“It’s a lot of tea that I be wanting to spill on y’all Black n*ggas, especially when y’all be seeing me getting attacked in the media and sh*t, and y’all don’t come to my rescue and sh*t like that…y’all n*ggas don’t look out for me, so what the f*ck I’m keeping secrets for y’all n*ggas for?”

Azealia Banks is now calling on the help of Ice Cube to help her retrieve money from a previous album that she says she never saw. She says music executive and Ice Cube’s longtime CubeVision business partner, Jeff Kwatinetz, allegedly stole the funds:

“@icecube Can you please ask Jeff Kwatinetz to release my royalties? It’s been six years and he stole ALL OF MY MONEY on an album interscope/polydore paid to produce. This white man robbed me and dropped me in the middle of shooting a movie because he felt I was being too vocal about police brutality.”

Azealia Banks likened her stance to Ice Cube’s start in NWA:

“…you’re whole career started off of a song called “F*ck the police” And he has stood by your black male side from day one. Ice Cube, if you have any ounce of care for how hard it is to be a black woman alone in this industry PLEASE BEG JEFF KWATINETZ TO RELEASE MY ROYALTIES.”

She continued:

“@icecube I am begging. I truly need my royalties to survive…I’m writing this letter with tears streaming down my face…I know you are the closet person to him. Please help me get my royalties Ice Cube.”

Will Azealia Banks’ cry for Ice Cube’s help work in her favor? Let us know what you think in the comments.
