Kobe & Vanessa Bryant’s Youngest Daughter Capri Turns One!
Kobe Bryant’s Youngest Daughter Capri Turns One
Kobe Bryant’s youngest daughter and namesake, Capri Kobe, turned a year old recently (June 20). Capri is the youngest of four girls that Kobe and Vanessa Bryant shared together. Capri’s mom Vanessa Bryant wrote a heartfelt message to the toddler on her Instagram along with a maternity photo after she was born,
“Happy 1st Birthday Capri! Mommy, Daddy, Nani, Gigi and BB love you SO much!!! God Bless you sweet princess. Capri Kobe Bryant a.k.a. “Koko-Bean” named after her dearly missed daddy, Kobe Bean Bryant We miss you SO much Gigi and Daddy.”
Vanessa Bryant posted another photo of Capri’s birthday outfit and detailing the toddler’s first birthday celebration with the significance of her cake,
“Happy 1st birthday Capri! We love you so much mamacita. @sweetladyjanebakerycafe thank you soooo much for coming through and creating a special birthday cake for our Koko-Bean. Natalia had the original Disneyland castle, Gianna had the Walt Disney World Castle, Bianka had Disney Paris and Capri has the Tokyo Disney Castle cake. Due to the pandemic we thought our 1st birthday tradition wasn’t going to be possible but Jane and Trent made sure Koko got her birthday cake to match her big sisters. I really appreciate Jane and the amazing cake designers that really cared to make this possible. So sweet!!!!Thank you, thank you. We love you Koko-Bean! #One-derful!”
Vanessa posted a picture of Capri’s name in balloons,
Lastly, she posted a family photo of herself and her girls Natalia, Bianka, and Capri,
The birthday event was bittersweet as Capri’s dad and sister were not there to celebrate. Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna were among 7 others that were killed in a helicopter crash on January 26 in Calabasas, California.
Vanessa Bryant has been vocal about helicopter safety after the crash that claimed her husband and daughter, even as recently petitioning to congress for a law that would name a helicopter safety bill after Kobe and Gianna. The bill would require all helicopters built to carry more than six people to be equipped with a Terrain Awareness and Warning System, a flight data recorder and a cockpit voice recorder.
Vanessa supported the proposal with the following statement:
“I strongly urge that the United States Congress pass a federal law that would improve the safety of helicopters operating in this country. I believe there is a chance that Kobe and Gianna would still be alive today if their helicopter had been equipped with the safety equipment required by this pending federal legislation…Having Kobe’s and Gianna’s names associated with this federal law that has the potential to save countless lives would be a fitting tribute to their memory.”
She continued:
“I believe that these safety measures will save many lives…As passengers traveling on aircrafts we assume that proper safety measures are in order to prevent accidents from happening before we fly. It’s unfortunate that this is not the case and aircraft companies must do their part to protect lives.”
