August Alsina Says He Was About To ‘Kick The Bucket’ As He Compares His Last Year To This Year
Singer August Alsina reflected on his journey with his autoimmune illness and highlighted how different he looks now compared to last year. The 27-year-old singer wrote a post on his Instagram along with an inspirational message about ignoring those that may say negative things about you behind your back. August Alsina wrote,
“Me this year VS Me this time last year!.. A n***a was bouta kick the bucket lol. I’ve tasted and toyed w/ death, therefore I want to live a life purposeful, w/ intention, & no regret. One thing that’s certain is we are all living to die. Death, we should fear not! Fear being alive, while dying & being dead inside; so create the life you see fit for yourself.”
“Autonomy; Will it hurt? Yes. Will you be hated & create enemies along the way? Yes; yet if there’s no enemy within, the enemy outside can do us no harm. Will you fail & fall at times? Yes. Experience all sorts of spiritual warfare, witchcraft & ppl talk about you? Yup!That too! You gone hear all type of things said about u. Throw it behind you, Get back up, dust it off, keep it moving & forever strive to LIVE YOUR SOUL, NOT A ROLE”

This isn’t the first time that August Alsina has opened up about his health to his fans. Back in September, he sang a gospel song in hopes of encouraging his fans, as well as sharing the latest on his liver condition.
“Update; My doctors have started me on my iv antibody Immunotherapy. In short form it’s sort of like chemo but instead, for my immune system. Only in this case, not killing the cells, but encouraging my nervous system & body to rebuild. (idk. I’m still learning).. I’d be lying if I said it hasn’t been tough on my body, but there are necessary steps in order to make progress. iLLness is so humbling & I often find myself singing this song of affirmation to myself eryday, so I figured I’d share that same love, affirmation and motivation with yal, whoever may need it. iHope it speaks to u. They say that #TheBlessingIsInTheENDURING (word 2 my bruv D.Walls)”
