Jason Derulo Is An Independent Artist After 12 Years: I’m A Free Agent
After partaking in a decade-plus long battle with his formal label, singer Jason Derulo now has the freedom to do whatever he so pleases, musically. Jason Derulo recently spoke about what his life is like now, as a free agent.
“Back in March, I was finally able to get out of [a 12-year] label situation. [Now], I’m a free agent… At this moment, I’m just enjoying that freedom and we’ll see where it takes us.”
He continued:
“But I do think where my goals lie are with a label, just having that one team that I consider family and we kind of hit the ground running together as opposed to working with different people all the time. I think it’s important to just have that one synergy.”
Outside of music, Jason Derulo has ventured into film and becoming a TikTok sensation.
Derulo mentioned that he is “trying to get his feet wet into the film industry”. He has starred in “CATS” and appeared in the autobiographical film “Spinning Gold”, starring Samuel L. Jackson. While the current COVID-19 pandemic has put his film aspirations on hold, the singer is optimistic that he can return to the world of film soon.
Hopefully, if everything gets back together, I can go back to filming, he said. These movies that I started. So yeah, I’m doing one with Samuel Jackson. I’m doing another one where I’m playing Ron Isley in the film.”
“It’s quite a bit, man, but everything got put on hold. It’s stopped.
Meanwhile, he recently confirmed he makes more than $75,0000 per 10 seconds for his TikTok videos.
“Okay I can’t you know, I think it’s tacky, to say what I what I do make from them but it’s far more than that.”
