Cardi B Spent $100K In COVID-19 Tests for ‘WAP’ Crew + Responds To Carole Baskins’ Criticism Of Animal Cameos: You Killed Your Husband!

And the “WAP” saga continues! The sexy music video from Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion has been a hot topic since its release – but in a world stopped by the coronavirus pandemic, Cardi B wants fans and critics to know that all safety precautions were taken to film the video. The 27-year-old rapper admitted that keeping her cast and crew safe came with a big bill. She said in a recent interview,

“We had to spend $100,000 dollars just on testing. Everybody on the shoot had to get tested for coronavirus…We had a tiger and a leopard there, but we didn’t film with them in there because of safety and because of the pandemic. We spliced those scenes together.”

This is where animal activist, Carole Baskins of Netflix’s “Tiger King” fame, feels Cardi B and company went wrong. Though Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion never personally interacted with the animal, Carole Baskin says they aren’t meant to film in the first place.

“That makes every follower of these artists, who doesn’t know better, want to imitate by doing the same. After tigers are too old for pay-to-play sessions by people like Joe Exotic, Bhagavan Antle, Marc McCarthy, Mario Tabraue and others, they become a liability instead of an asset…You have to pose with a wildcat in front of a green screen to get that image and that doesn’t happen in the wild. It can’t happen in sanctuaries like ours where cats have plenty of room to avoid a green screen [or would shred it if offered access and could die from ingesting it.]”

Carole Baskins continued:

“That tells me they probably dealt with one of the big cat pimps, who makes a living from beating, shocking and starving cats to make them stand on cue in front of a green screen in a studio. That’s never good for the cat…[it] glamorizes the idea of rich people having tigers as pets.”

Yikes! However, Cardi B is paying the Netflix star no mind. She responded:

“I’m not gonna engage with Carole Baskin on that. Like, that’s just ridiculous you know? Oh, Lord. Like, girl you killed your godd*mn husband.”
