Anthony Anderson Gets His Star On The Hollywood Walk Of Fame!
Just one day before his 50th birthday, comedic actor Anthony Anderson received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame with his family members by his side Friday (Aug. 14th). His star is located at 6780 Hollywood Boulevard. Back in May, he told Jimmy Fallon he was supposed to get the honor in 2019, but he changed it to coincide with his milestone birthday. He said back then,
“It’s a hell of a milestone and I want more than 10 people around me to celebrate my star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.”
Anthony Anderson is the first performer to receive the honor during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. He said he was just a bit disappointed that the pandemic had affected the turnout of the event and told Variety:
“I was looking forward to the pomp and circumstance that surrounds anyone getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, because not just anyone can or will get that.”

Anthony Anderson, who’s made a well-recognized name for himself in roles like Life, Barbershop, and Kangaroo Jack, added that a celebration for the prestigious honor will certainly happen once the COVID-19 crisis ends.
“We will have a party on that star! I will go get a permit to shut down that part of the street, just so we can have our pomp and circumstance, so the fans and the public can enjoy it just as much as me and my family will enjoy it the day that it happens.”
In the meantime, Tracee Ellis Ross, his current TV wife on the hit ABC show “black-ish,” congratulated Anderson on his well-deserved recognition.
Martin Lawrence, his fellow co-star in the 1999 comedic drama Life also sent a congratulatory message.
“CONGRATS TO MY BROTHA @ANTHONYANDERSON ON HIS MUCH DESERVED STAR ON THE HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME!”
