G Herbo Questions Connection Between COVID-19 & The Need To Vote, Says He’ll Give President ‘The Benefit Of The Doubt’
G Herbo (born Herbert Wright, III), 25, has questions surrounding the correlation between the pandemic and the need to vote.
The rapper, who’s dating socialite Taina Williams, posted a video trying to gain understanding. He said,
“I just seen some sh*t that said if you sick of this pandemic, go vote. What the f*ck do the presidential election gotta do with the pandemic? I thought we was in a pandemic ’cause of coronavirus. So did the president invent coronavirus or the government? Cuz what the f*ck is they tryna influence us to vote because we in a pandemic?”
He added:
“Or maybe the president gon’ do something about the pandemic. [Alter] laws so the pandemic will be less hard on us? I’mma try to give him the benefit of the doubt.”
He further stated,
“Sh*t sounding a little funny though.”
The rapper may have been stuck figuring out the correlation with voting and COVID-19, but he certainly wasn’t stuck when it was time to give back to his hometown of Chicago.
In September, G Herbo garnered headline attention for purchasing his former elementary school, Overton Elementary in Chicago’s south side, to turn it into a community center for the youth.
According to fellow Chicago resident rapper, Vic Mensa stated,
“The city doesn’t really fund or resource our communities & our schools, and so many schools are shut down, it kind of comes onto us to do the things the community needs.”
