Eddie Murphy’s ‘Coming 2 America’ Strikes Deal with Amazon Studios Worth Roughly $125 Million
New details have been released about the highly anticipated “Coming 2 America” film. According to reports, the film has been sold from Paramount Pictures to Amazon Studios and is allegedly worth $125 million.
The original film grossed nearly $300 million at the worldwide box office, premiered in 1988 and centered around Eddie Murphy who played Akeem, an African prince who set out to New York City to find his bride. The hit movie also starred Arsenio Hall and James Earl Jones while it helped launch the careers of actors like Samuel L. Jackson, Garcelle Beauvais, and Eriq La Salle, to name a few.
According to sources, the expected streaming date for the film is December 18. The resurgence of the coronavirus over the past several months have forced many theaters in America to re-close causing the moviegoing experience to change as we know it.
