Al Roker Is Back Home After Successful Prostate Cancer Surgery
TV personality and broadcast news reporter Al Roker is giving an update about his health. On November 4th Al Roker, 66, announced on TODAY that he had prostate cancer.
Al Roker took to Instagram on November 13th saying he had a successful surgery:
“Relieved to let you all know that my #prostatecancer surgery is done and back home. A big shoutout to everyone at the #josierobertsonsurgerycenter and so appreciate all the thoughts and wishes from our viewers and the wonderful care packages from my co-workers. Hope to see you all soon.”

Shortly after his surgery on Saturday, he posted a video of himself taking a walk in Central Park and reminding other men to get their prostate exams and stay on top of their health.

Al Roker was diagnosed on Sept. 29th shortly after getting a physical. His doctor noticed he had a high prostate-specific antigen (PSA) after getting the results of his blood tests. Roker went on to get an MRI and a biopsy before he was officially diagnosed.
Since then, his mission has been to educate other men about getting tested.
