Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Ink Exclusive Multiyear Spotify Deal
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are taking their talents to Spotify to uplift and entertain audiences in a new podcast launching later this month with a holiday special.
The royal pair signed with Spotify through a newly formed production company, Archewell Audio, with Spotify-owned studio Gimlet producing the show in partnership with Archewell Audio.
In a statement, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle said,
“What we love about podcasting is that it reminds all of us to take a moment and to really listen to connect to one another without distraction. With the challenges of 2020, there has never been a more important time to do so, because when we hear each other, and hear each other’s stories, we are reminded of how interconnected we all are.”
In September, the couple shut down rumors that they were participating in their own reality show after news began to circulate that they inked a deal with Netflix to produce films and shows. Netflix addressed the speculation,
“The couple already has several projects in development, including an innovative nature docuseries and an animated series that celebrates inspiring women, but we are not disclosing any of the programing slate at this time.”
In a statement made to The New York Times, the couple expressed:
“Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope. As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us.”
Well, now it’s confirmed that their content will be spread in multifaceted creative ways with their new podcast.
