Denzel Washington Gets Emotional Over Son John David Washington’s Praises: I’m Speechless
Denzel Washington is one of the greatest actors of all time, but it was his son’s praises that lead to a rare, emotional moment for him.
While on Access Hollywood last month, Denzel Washington’s son, actor John David Washington, reacted to The New York Times naming Denzel Washington the best actor of the 21st century.
John David Washington said:
“I think he is one of the greatest to ever do it so it was a very proud moment for our entire family.”
Denzel Washington was shown the clip during his own appearance on Access Hollywood and couldn’t help but smile. He was on the verge of tears as he reacted and said:
“Wow. I’m speechless. I forgot what the question was but I’m speechless. I didn’t know he said that.”
Denzel Washington also said the world needs to look out for his daughter, Olivia Washington, who produced John David Washington’s latest project, Malcolm & Marie.
Denzel said:
“Watch out for his sister. His sister is a great actor. Olivia Washington.”
While the moment left Denzel speechless, John David is never a stranger to giving accolades to his father.
In September 2020, he said:
“I think the best actor in the industry, in the business, is my father. I’m inspired by the kind of career he’s had and what he’s had to do. Again, he’s been on the frontline for many years and what he’s done with it, with his opportunities, I just am so inspired and continue to be inspired by what he does and how he works and his approach to the craft and the business.”
