Colin Kaepernick Mini-Series Production Reportedly Threatened By Proud Boys
According to reports, a Netflix mini-series about Colin Kaepernick allegedly received a threat from far-right group The Proud Boys, who were planning to protest last Friday at the production shoot. The Proud Boys are a far-right, neo-fascist, and male-only white nationalist organization that promotes and engages in political violence in the United States and Canada. The group originated in the far-right Taki’s Magazine in 2016 under the leadership of Vice Media co-founder and former commentator Gavin McInnes.
Two production assistants claimed that a suspicious phone call was made to the production office.
The upcoming drama series from Colin Kaepernick and Ava DuVernay explores Kaepernick’s high school years and the experiences that led him to become an activist.
Kaepernick nor DuVernay have yet to respond to reports of an alleged threat.
