Kelly Rowland Recalls Ending Interview Because Reporter Was Slamming Mariah Carey: Get Out
Kelly Rowland is unashamed in her respect for fellow songstress Mariah Carey.
The Destiny’s Child star recalled a time she went as far as ending an interview because the reporter wanted to bad mouth Mariah Carey.
She spoke on the performance that has made her the most nervous while on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live and referenced her Mariah Carey tribute at the 2012 BET Honors.
Kelly Rowland said,
“Tribute? Mariah, definitely. Because I love and respect her so much.”
She continued,
“I’ve literally had an argument with a journalist over her because they were talking stuff about her. I was like, ‘Oh no, this interview’s over. Get out.’ I ride for Mariah. I ride for Mariah.”
While on the show, she also explained why she refuses to watch Britney Spears’ documentary, Framing Britney Spears.
She explained,
“I’m having a hard time in wanting to watch it, just because I really respect when artists actually say, ‘This is a documentary, it’s OK to watch it.’ I respect their space and their privacy and their point of view, you know what I mean?”
“And their story, what they feel like their story is from their brains, their hearts, their mouths in which they speak. So I kinda respect that, but everybody says that they really enjoy it, it’s great.”
