Britney Spears’ Dad, Jamie Spears, Reportedly Told Her She Was ‘Fat’, ‘A Terrible Mother’, & Threatened To Keep Her Children Away If She Didn’t Obey Him

More details have recently surfaced about Britney Spears’ conservatorship and the alleged ill-treatment she’s been receiving from her father over the years. A friend of the Spears’ family, Jacqueline Butcher, shared with The New Yorker that Britney’s father, Jamie Spears, wasted no time in mistreating her after the conservatorship began in 2008.

According to the insider, the first incident she witnessed took place shortly after Britney’s second release from a psychiatric hospital. At that time Jamie Spears had just taken over the popstar’s conservator and was planning to launch her comeback with a guest appearance on the hit TV show How I Met Your Mother. Butcher claims Jamie Spears body-shamed Britney and told her she needed to lose weight.

“Jamie said, ‘Baby,’ and I thought he was going to say, ‘We love you, but you need help.’ But what he said was ‘You’re fat. Daddy’s gonna get you on a diet and a trainer, and you’re gonna get back in shape.’”

Jamie Spears reportedly added,

“You see that TV over there? You know what it’s going to say in eight weeks? That’s gonna be you on there, and they’re gonna say, ‘She’s back.’”

The family friend also claims Jamie Spears would verbally abuse the ‘Gimme More’ singer as well.

“He would get all in her face—spittle was flying—telling her she was a w****e and a terrible mother.”

In addition to that, Butcher alleges that Britney’s dad would threaten to keep her children away from her if she didn’t obey the conservatorship. She added that Britney’s mom, Lynne Spears, was aware of this and she once told her daughter,

“Obey Daddy and they’ll let you out.”

Britney has yet to confirm these claims but earlier this week she did post an inspirational image to her IG page that reads,

“Whatever makes your soul happy – do that”

As previously reported, on June 23 Britney Spears requested to end her conservatorship. She shocked the world with the chilling details she shared about the treatment she’s received over the past 13 years while under the conservatorship. Britney’s request to remove her father from the control of her finances and life was denied on June 30. However, her lawyer is expected to file a new petition aiming to remove his client from the conservatorship soon.
