Darnella Frazier, Teen Who Filmed George Floyd’s Murder, Reveals Her Uncle Was Killed In Car Crash Involving Minneapolis Police
Darnella Frazier was thrown into the spotlight last year as a teenager for capturing the wrongful death of George Floyd on video. The young lady is making headlines again because her uncle, 40-year-old Leneal Frazier, was recently killed by a Minneapolis police officer during a car crash.
According to reports, the incident took place early Tuesday morning, July 6. Leneal Frazier was driving to his girlfriend’s home when he was fatally hit by an oncoming Minneapolis police car. The officer driving the vehicle was reportedly pursuing an armed robbery suspect on a residential road when they changed lanes heading northbound and hit Leneal Frazier at an intersection.
Darnella Frazier’s mother confirmed that it was her brother that was killed in the crash with local media. The officer involved in the incident was reportedly seriously injured and is receiving treatment. Darnella Frazier also confirmed her uncle’s death by releasing a statement via Facebook about the unfortunate news. She wrote,
“I honestly can’t believe I’m making this post right now…I’m so hurt…nothing feels real. I woke up to the most horrible news. MINNEAPOLIS police Killed my uncle MY uncle… Another black man lost his life in the hands of the police! I asked my mom several times “he died??”. I couldn’t accept what I was hearing and still can’t.”
She added,
“Minneapolis police has cost my whole family a big loss…today has been a day full of heartbreak and sadness … It’s not fair how the police can just go around killing people.”
