Soulja Boy Wants Lawsuit From His Ex, Nia Riley, Thrown Out, Claims He Never Assaulted Her Causing Miscarriage
Soulja Boy is denying the assault allegations that he’s currently facing from his ex-girlfriend Nia Riley. According to court documents obtained by Radar Online, Soulja Boy, born DeAndre Way, claims that despite what Nia Riley, 31, is alleging, he never assaulted her so badly that it caused her to miscarry their child. The 30-year-old rapper is requesting the court to drop her case. In the court documents, his lawyer writes,
“With respect to all causes of action, even if someone is liable for improper or illegal conduct, a fact which Defendant denies, Defendant is in no way or manner vicariously liable for that conduct.”
Soulja Boy also says he never sexually abused his ex and anything that went down between them was consented to by all parties involved. In the court documents, he claims,
“willful, intentional, deliberate, malicious and fraudulent conduct of others was/were responsible for and proximately contributed to the damages alleged to have been sustained.”
As previously reported, Nia Riley and Soulja Boy dated on and off from 2013 until 2019 and have even appeared on a couple reality tv shows together before – Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta and Marriage Boot Camp.
Earlier this year, Nia Riley, who is the daughter of Grammy Award-winning singer Teddy Riley, came forward with the alleged abuse she suffered from the rapper during their relationship. During an interview with Tasha K, she revealed that Soulja Boy allegedly kicked her in the stomach while she was carrying their child which caused her to miscarry. She said,
“He absolutely knew I was pregnant. I was like 15 weeks. I don’t think I had told anybody else that I was pregnant because, truthfully, in my mind, I didn’t know what I was going to do or what I wanted to do. And I was in LA so I had some time.”
She continued,
“I’m not sure what time it was that it happened but I know for sure it was that night, late that night, maybe early morning. I remember I had put a towel on the bed.”
The former reality star also alleged that her ex once held a gun to her head during another altercation she had with him.
“His barber came after our whole little incident. So I said, ‘I know this n****’s haircuts take like an hour.’ I’m trying to make sure he couldn’t see me from certain mirrors. And I packed my bag. It’s a crazy situation to try to get out of. So I was just sitting there, watching, watching, watching. He hadn’t moved. He didn’t get up for nothing. I got up, got my bag. I walked downstairs. And I felt him press it [the gun] against the back of my head. And I just sat down. I sat on the steps for a couple of hours. He was sitting behind me.”
In May Nia Riley, under the pseudonym Jane Doe, filed a civil lawsuit against Soulja Boy in Los Angeles Superior Court. She accused him of years of physical and sexual abuse. In the lawsuit, she goes into detail about the alleged abuse she experienced at the hands of her ex. According to her lawyer,
“[Soulja Boy] punches caused her to fall to the ground, where she curled her body in to protect her stomach and used her hands to cover her head.”
In addition to physical abuse, Nia Riley claims Soulja Boy would often force her to have sex with him. She is reportedly seeking unspecified damages. Soulja Boy has always denied her allegations.
