Dr. Dre Ordered To Pay Ex-Wife Nicole Young Over $3.5 Million In Spousal Support Each Year
Dr. Dre‘s ex-wife, Nicole Young, just had a big win in their spousal support case!
Earlier this week, Dr. Dre (real name Andre Young) and Nicole Young had a court hearing regarding their spousal support matter. The hearing resulted in Dr. Dre being ordered to pay his ex-wife nearly $300,000 a month. Added all together, the total amount comes out to $3,519,672 a year! The order reads:
“[Dre] is ordered to pay to the [Nicole] spousal support in the sum of $293,306.00 per month, payable on the first of each month, commencing August 1, 2021… [Payments will continue] until the party receiving support remarries or enters into a new domestic partnership, death of either party.”
Additionally, Dr. Dre also has to pay for Nicole Young‘s health insurance. However, all other forms of insurance have to be paid by Nicole herself. On top of this, the judge ordered the music mogul to cover the expenses for the former couple’s homes in Malibu and Pacific Palisades.
While the spousal support issue is settled, the former couple is still engaged in a legal battle over an overall divorce settlement. It is also worth noting that the spousal support payments are reportedly temporary, and they may cease once the divorce settlement is negotiated.
Dr. Dre and Nicole Young are also squabbling over their prenup situation. Nicole claims she signed a prenup before their 1996 marriage, but she alleges that Dr. Dre tore it to shreds a few years later, making it void. Dr, Dre, however, refutes these claims. Resultingly, their divorce drama is not quite over yet.
