Venus Williams Isn’t Worried About Her ‘Ticking Biological Clock’: I’m Not Desperate
Olympic gold medalist and tennis star, Venus Williams, wants people to know that she’s not in a rush to change her life.
The 41-year-old said in a recent interview,
“I have a lot of friends who don’t believe me when I say that I like my life and I don’t want to change it for any reason. I’m not desperate and they don’t believe me.“

Venus Williams doesn’t seem to feel the pressure some women do about their “ticking biological clocks.” She explains that she doesn’t think she’s missing anything and wants her friends to stop projecting their feelings onto her.
“They say things like, ‘You’re going to miss your window.’ I’m like, ‘Please, relax. You might feel this way, but I don’t. I promise you I don’t.'”
The 21-time Grand Slam winner knows herself well and also knows how to prioritize herself. Like her sister, Serena Williams, she withdrew from the US Open because of a leg injury. She explained that she couldn’t work through it and vowed to return to the court as soon as she could.
“I tried my best here in Chicago, but I just was unable to figure out the equation. And there’s been so many times where I’ve been able to figure it out, even not in the best of my health, but this time, I just couldn’t make any miracles work.”
