‘The Proud Family’ Trends After Revealing Star-Studded Features For Series Reboot, Tiffany Haddish, Lil Nas X, Normani, & Tina Knowles Included In The Line-Up
‘The Proud Family’ reboot is definitely bringing out all the heavy hitters for the upcoming series relaunch. Today, September 15, Disney + shared online, via a video, the exciting news of what celebrities would be a part of the new series, ‘The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder’. Disney + captioned the post,
“It’s a family thing. Celebrate 20 years of #TheProudFamily with some of the star-studded cast of The Proud Family: #LouderAndProuder, an Original Series premiering in 2022 on #DisneyPlus!”
In the video announcement, the popular streaming service revealed actress/comedian Tiffany Haddish, 41, would be bringing her entertainment skills to the animated show. Tiffany Haddish spoke on her love for the series and said,
“I love ‘The Proud Family’. Been watching it since it came out. When it came out I was in my – I don’t want to tell everyone how old I am. But it was some decades ago, let me just put it like that, and I’m still watching.”

Media personality EJ Johnson, 29, screenwriter Lena Waithe, 37, and 3-time Olympic gold medalist Gabrielle Douglas, 25, will all be on the reboot as well.

Actresses Keke Palmer, 28, and Gabrielle Union, 48, have also joined the ‘The Proud Family’ team. Gabrielle Union spoke on how her real-life family relates to the series and said,
“They’re a family not unlike my own. Funny, complicated, but at the end of the day, it’s family over everything.”

The announcement video also features Normani, 25, Actor Asante Blackk, 19, and Beyoncé’s mom, businesswoman Tina Knowles, 67.

The celebrity features don’t end there. Disney + released a press release and shared that many more stars including; Lil Nas X, 22, Chance The Rapper, 28, Marsai Martin, 17, Jaden Smith, 23, and Leslie Odom Jr., 40, will appear on the show too!

The press release added,
“The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder will pick up the story of its central character, Penny Proud, and include her madcap family: parents Oscar and Trudy, twin siblings BeBe and CeCe, and grandmother Suga Mama (and Puff!). Of course, it would not be “The Proud Family” without Penny’s loyal crew Dijonay Jones, LaCienega Boulevardez and Zoey Howzer, among others.”
Following the release of the new additions to the series reboot, ‘The Proud Family’ became a trending topic on Twitter as fans shared their reactions.
