Britney Spears’ Dad, Jamie Spears, Officially Suspended From Her Conservatorship After 13 Years
There has been an update in Britney Spears‘ conservatorship case, and it’s a big victory for the 39-year-old star!
Britney Spears‘ father–Jamie Spears–was officially suspended from her conservatorship yesterday (Wednesday, Sept. 29th). This news comes a little over three months after Britney Spears first testified that her dad exhibited controlling behavior as her conservator–such as allegedly forcing her to be on birth control.
With Jamie Spears‘ suspension, a CPA (certified public accountant) named John Zabel will temporarily serve as Britney‘s conservator. Regarding the decision, Britney Spears‘ attorney–Matthew Rosengart–commented:
“[This decision is] in the best interest of the conservatee, which is my goal.”
He added:
“[The next court date of] Nov. 12 will be about the termination of the entire conservatorship. It’s a great day for justice. She’s very happy. We’re all very happy.”
Shortly after the decision was announced, Sam Asghari – who got engaged to Britney Spears earlier this month – referenced the matter on his Instagram Story. He initially wrote:
“FREE BRITNEY! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!”

Sam Asghari followed this message with a shout out for Britney‘s fan base:
“She did this. Her fan base is called the Army for a reason.”

Britney Spears also seemingly addressed the matter on Instagram. A few hours after the decision, the star uploaded a video of her flying a small plane. While she didn’t explicitly reference the conservatorship decision, she proclaimed she was “on cloud 9 right now.” Additionally, it’s also worth noting that Britney announced she would be uploading more content in the near future.
