Nick Cannon Says He ‘Snuck’ Cellphones To His & Mariah Carey’s Twins Despite Her Saying No: She’s Still Mad At Me To This Day
Giving children cellphones can be a disagreeable topic when it comes to co-parenting–but that didn’t stand in Nick Cannon‘s way!
In a teaser for an upcoming episode of The Nick Cannon Show, Nick Cannon shares a story involving his ex-wife Mariah Carey and their children, Moroccan and Monroe. The 41-year-old comedian initially revealed that he and Mariah Carey disagreed about when to give their kids cellphones:
“My oldest twins Roc and Roe wanted a cell phone at 8. They [already had] iPads, and I was all for it, I’m all about it. But Mariah was like ‘Uh-uh! They ain’t going to be Googling us, uh-uh! Learning about all their new brothers and sisters–no, we ain’t playing!'”
Nick Cannon then revealed that he eventually “snuck” their kids some cellphones for their 10th birthday earlier this year:
“I respected it at 8, but then we kinda made a deal . We said at 10 then they can have it… [But] Mariah still said ‘Uh-uh! No.’ So at 10, I snuck and I still got them the cellphones for their birthday.”
He continued:
“We had this amazing party with jump jumps, their friends came, and it was so amazing. Then it was time to open the gifts. I was like ‘I’m going to leave these right here and tell your mama I’ll be back!'”
While laughing, Nick Cannon added:
“Mariah is still mad at me to this day. I’m sorry–I think the kids should have cellphones!”
