Transgender Reality Star Sidney Starr Sparks Dating Rumors With Darius McCrary, Actor Denies They’re Together & Suggests He’s Engaged

Sidney Starr is sparking dating rumors with actor Darius McCrary.

Yesterday (Monday, Oct. 18), transgender reality star Sidney Starr ignited speculation that she and Darius McCrary were together when she exclusively spoke with The Shade Room. In the now-deleted story, Sidney Starr claimed that she and the ‘Family Matters’ star Darius McCrary have been dating since February.

Rumors of the alleged romance first began circulating after Starr posted a photo and some behind-the-scenes footage from a recent photoshoot the two did together. In her caption, she wrote,

“Here standing next to me is a seasoned legend Actor in this entertainment industry. @dariusmccrary . A black heterosexual male actor who’s standing aside a controversial transgender woman like myself..”

She continued,

“We are great friends … and this is a powerful movement we have made to let this be a lesson to the WORLD that we are all human ! No matter what !!!! #Familymatters”

To which Darius McCrary responded,

“I stand w/my family and that’s all that #matters.”

Starr also posted a video of her and Darius McCrary getting pretty close. She added the caption,

“We both are just built special!!!!! 2 hard working celebrities in the industry!!!!!!! Eddie Winslow we love you!!!! @dariusmccrary ! We hear y’all talking !!! #transisbeautiful #familymatters”

Meanwhile, McCrary, along with his former “Family Matters” TV mother, Jo Marie Payton, denied the rumors. In a video of the two casually in a restaurant, he added,

“…Listen y’all, when y’all are discussing these rumors that are not true, we eating.”

He went on to call out critics before alluding to being engaged.

“I will say this, what are we in high school? You gonna tell me who I can be friends with, who I can’t hangout with? I am a grown man, I’m really five years away from 50 so if I wasn’t with my mama I would really be saying this a whole other way but I am with my mama. Stop running with these rumors.” 

“And I think that my fiancée would really have something different to say. That’s what y’all should really be focusing on, where that ring is.”

In addition to denying the claims, Darius McCrary’s reps, who previously represented Sidney Starr, also say this is her ‘desperate’ attempt to get back on reality television. In a statement to The Shade Room, the rep said,

“McCrary has kept an amicable friendship with Starr, who has been persistent with creating fake storylines and relationships with our client in a sad attempt to get back on ‘Love & Hip Hop: New York.”

Starr responded with a different photo of her and McCrary on her IG story with the caption,

“I’m always the villain huh [laughing Emoji] wtf!”
