Vin Diesel Pens Open Letter To Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Asking Actor To Return To Fast & Furious Franchise For Finale: You Must Show Up
It seems that Vin Diesel wants to get the gang back together for the final ‘Fast & Furious’ films.
It’s no secret that Vin Diesel, 54, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, 49, haven’t been on the best of terms lately. Reportedly, the former friends/co-stars have been feuding since they filmed ‘The Fate of the Furious’ in 2016.
As previously reported, this past summer Dwayne Johnson shared that he ‘laughed hard’ when he heard that Vin Diesel claimed the ‘tough love’ he gives Johnson is the reason for their ill relationship. The ‘Jungle Cruise’ actor added that he wishes the ‘Fast & Furious’ family well but he will not be returning to the franchise. He said,
“I wish them well on ‘Fast 9.’ And I wish them the best of luck on ‘Fast 10’ and ‘Fast 11’ and the rest of the ‘Fast & Furious’ movies they do that will be without me.”

Despite Johnson being adamant that he will not be returning to the popular action film series, Diesel recently penned an open letter asking him to reconsider. On November 7, Diesel uploaded a throwback photo of himself with Johnson from the film series. He captioned the post,
“My little brother Dwayne… the time has come. The world awaits the finale of Fast 10. As you know, my children refer to you as Uncle Dwayne in my house. There is not a holiday that goes by that they and you don’t send well wishes… but the time has come. Legacy awaits. I told you years ago that I was going to fulfill my promise to Pablo. I swore that we would reach and manifest the best Fast in the finale that is 10!”
He added,
“I say this out of love… but you must show up, do not leave the franchise idle you have a very important role to play. Hobbs can’t be played by no other. I hope that you rise to the occasion and fulfill your destiny”.

Johnson first appeared in the ‘Fast & Furious’ films in 2011 as agent Luke Hobbs. In total, he’s been in four ‘Fast & Furious’ movies so far and also did the spinoff, ‘Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw.’
According to reports, the final installment of ‘Fast & Furious’ will be split into two parts. The first film is reportedly set to be released sometime in 2023 and the second part will be released the following year. Famed ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise director Justin Lin has described the final 3 ‘Fast’ movies as chapters in a trilogy that will end the main ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise.
