Zendaya & Tom Holland Slam “Ridiculous” Stereotypes Over Their Height Difference

Zendaya And Tom Holland Slam “Ridiculous” Stereotypes Over Their Height Difference
Zendaya and Tom Holland are typically coy when it comes to their rumored off screen romance, however, during a recent sit down with Sirius XM promoting their new film Spider-Man: No Way Home, the pair were questioned about their two-inch height difference. Reportedly, the couple answered questions about the “misogynistic” and “problematic” idea that Zendaya being taller than Tom Holland would somehow impact their romantic relationship ( she’s reportedly about 5’10”, while he’s around 5’8″). Tom said it was a “stupid assumption” while Zendaya agreed, stating how common their height difference is. She said,
“This is normal, too. My mom is taller than my dad. My mom’s taller than everyone.”

Holland also points out that while casting for Spider-Man, almost every actress that auditioned for the role of MJ was taller than him.
“I remember when we were doing the Spider-Man screen tests…but every girl that we tested for both roles was taller than me.”
He continued,
“I wonder whether that was a decision Jon [Director] had made. There was no one that tested that was shorter than I was. To be fair, I am quite short, so maybe that was a decision Jon Watts made and something he was aware of and wanted to break the stereotype. I think it’s great.”
Just last week, Zendaya and Tom jokingly addressed their height difference while on The Graham Norton Show, saying it unexpectedly interfered with a stunt.
