Update: Wendy Williams Says She Did NOT Authorize Howard Bragman To Make A Statement On Her Behalf About Her Talk Show Ending
Wendy Williams Speaks Out & Reacts To Sherri Shepherd Replacement News, Teases TV Comeback
Update #1. Wendy Williams has posted a message on social media denying she allowed Bragman to speak on her behalf. See her message below.
Original Story: Wendy Williams is speaking out, reacting to the latest talk show news.
Earlier today, it was confirmed that her talk show would end and that Sherri Shepherd would have her own show, launching in the fall. The talk show host’s rep Howard Bragman says:
“It’s been a challenging time for Wendy as she deals with her health issues. She is incredibly grateful to Debmar-Mercury, to Sherri and everybody else who has supported the show through this time. She, more than anyone, understands the reality of syndicated television — you can’t go to the marketplace and sell a show that’s the Maybe Wendy Show.”
Wendy also appears to tease a possible return, as the statement adds:
“She understands why this decision was made from a business point of view, and she has been assured by Debmar-Mercury that should her health get to a point where she can host again and should her desire be that she hosts again that she would be back on TV at that time.”
