Wendy Williams’ Publicist Calls Out Former Rep Over His Remarks About Talk Show Host: “You wouldn’t refer to your client’s show as the ‘Maybe Wendy Show,’ which was shade directed towards Wendy”

Wendy Williams and her Publicist, Shawn Zanotti, are not too fond of the recent statements made by her former rep, Howard Bragman. In fact, Zanotti says Bragmans comments were ‘not in the best interest of Wendy’.

As previously reported, “The Wendy Williams Show” is coming to an indefinite end soon, and Sherri Shepherd, 54, would replace that time slot with her own talk show. Immediately after that was announced, Howard Bragman, 65, who was said to be the rep for Wendy Williams, 57, released a statement claiming that the popular TV personality was understanding about the changes taking place surrounding her show. He said,

“It’s been a challenging time for Wendy as she deals with her health issues. She is incredibly grateful to Debmar-Mercury, to Sherri and everybody else who has supported the show through this time. She, more than anyone, understands the reality of syndicated television — you can’t go to the marketplace and sell a show that’s the Maybe Wendy Show.”

Wendy later spoke out and revealed that she never gave anyone permission to speak on her behalf. In a Instagram story post, she wrote,

“Mr. Bragman, although I appreciate your concerns and respect you immensely, I have not authorized you to make any statements on my behalf regarding my current status with Debmar Mercury. Again, thanks for your continuing concern and support.”

Now, the publicist for the talk show host is calling out Bragman for his remarks, describing them as “shade directed towards Wendy,” who is said to be “going through a very human experience.” Shawn Zanotti wrote,

“The statement that was put out by the guy Howard was not in the best interest of Wendy. You wouldn’t refer to your client’s show as the ‘Maybe Wendy Show,’ which was shade directed towards Wendy… To further go on to question the validity of her verified IG page, is even more proof that this was not in the best interest of Wendy — knowing he hasn’t spoken to her.”

She continued,

“His social media post response is additional evidence that he hasn’t had any recent communication with her by saying, ‘so WHEN my old friend Wendy FaceTimes me personally.’ It comes off as a bullying tactic and a forced response just to be a part of the conversation which shows it’s more about him than about Wendy.”

In her statement, Zanotti also revealed that amidst all the behind the scenes chaos, Wendy Williams is focusing on her health and well being. Zanotti called on the public to “uplift” Williams amid her “public shaming.”

“The focus right now should not be on the public shaming of Wendy Williams or the production company making a decision from ‘a business point of view.. It should be on uplifting her while she is going through a very human experience. So, please send prayers and positivity to Wendy and her legal team who have bigger fish to fry!”
