Rapper NLE Choppa and social media personality Marissa Da’Nae’s unborn son has passed away. The pair shared their loss via Instagram yesterday (Mar. 6).
Marissa wrote:
“Talking bout this is so hard. But with Bryson next to me and being my supporter, this has helped me more. Losing our Son is so hard for me, I couldn’t function. But he has has pulled me through and I’m thankful to have you by my side and with me along this journey.”
She continued:
“There’s a lot of women who suffer the things I suffer and go through the same things I go through. So this also help to open up and let other women know that they aren’t alone. Thank you for all the kind words we truly appreciate it.”
She added:
“Thank you Seven, for helping mommy grow more into a better person, pushing me into being more healthier and being the reason for me to continue to fight.”
She concluded:
“I love you and I truly do appreciate the time we spent growing together and bonding. You have truly gave mommy more hope. We love you baby. Seven Da’Shun Potts #Forever7.”
The couple sat down and spoke about the miscarriage Marissa suffered. They posted the video on YouTube.
Marissa explained that doctors were concerned about the baby’s weight at her 5-month checkup in Feb. At the time, they determined that the baby–whose name was Seven–was experiencing Fetal Growth Restriction.
According to Marissa’s medical team, the fetus was supposed to be around 1 to 1.5 lbs. as she entered her sixth month. Sadly, Seven was about 2 oz due to a lack of nutrients from the placenta. Doctors suggested that if the baby weighed at least 2 lbs., they’d induce labor and place him in the NICU. Shortly after, Marissa lost Seven.
Of his son’s passing, NLE Choppa said:
“Seven had a purpose, and his purpose was to not be here physically, but to bring something in spirit with us, to watch over us and guide us through the path that we’re on.”
He added:
“I just looked at it as an angel being born on earth cause I believe in the soul more than the physical body than anything. And I know…with him being here, with that happening, I just know that his soul is here.”
