Migos Rapper Quavo Says He Too Stopped Buying Louis Vuitton Bags After Virgil Abloh’s Passing
It looks like Quavo is done buying Louis Vuitton, not that he doesn’t have more than enough to go around.
In a post shared via Instagram, the rapper, who makes up 1/3 of the group Migos, showed off several bags from the luxury designer brand. In his caption, Quavo said,
“I Stop Buying Louis Bags After Virgil [Abloh] Passed”
Quavo also shares two other photos, one of which appears to show his nephew Take Off, who is also a member of Migos, flexing with his Louis Vuitton bags as well.
Quavo‘s caption comes from Kanye West‘s song “Louis Bags,” which features Jack Harlow.

As the creative director of Kanye West‘s creative agency Donda, Virgil Abloh played a pivotal role in his career. The two formed a solid friendship after meeting in 2009, with Abloh working on several of Kanye West‘s projects. His contributions includes cover art for West‘s 2010 album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, as well as being the art director for West and Jay-Z‘s 2011 collaboration Watch The Throne.
Most notably, Virgil Abloh was also the artistic director of Louis Vuitton’s menswear collection—becoming the first Black person to take on such a role for the brand. The iconic streetwear designer passed away on November 28, 2021, following a private, two-year battle with colon cancer.
Following his death, rumors circulated that Kanye West would be taking over his position at the company—a claim West disputed on “Louis Bags.” West said,
“We ain’t doin’ business, it won’t be no business.”
Rappers Lil’ Durk and Gunna also recently paid tribute to Abloh on “What Happened to Virgil.” The track appears on Lil’ Durk‘s album 7220, which released on March 11. On the song’s bridge Lil’ Durk raps,
“Oh my God, what happened to Virgil? / Oh my God, what happened to Virgil?”
