According to reports, Samuel L. Jackson, 73, has signed on to play Garfield’s dad in the upcoming animated film. The movie will be directed by “Emperor’s New Groove” director Mark Dindal, 61, and will star actor Chris Pratt, 42, as the beloved Garfield character. This installment of the Garfield story will be based on the well-known cartoon strip of the same name, which follows a cynical and lazy orange cat, Garfield, and his interactions with his owner, Jon Arbuckle, and his fellow pet, Odie.
Samuel L. Jackson’s character, Vic, is a brand new addition coming to the storyline. Jackson is no stranger to being a part of iconic films and franchises. He’s been in the entertainment business for decades and has appeared in multiple hit projects including “Coming to America,” “Juice,” “Pulp Fiction,” and “Star Wars: The Clone Wars.” According to reports, the movies that Jackson has appeared in throughout his career have collectively grossed over $27 billion worldwide, which makes him one of the highest-grossing actors of all time. In addition to that, Jackson is a five-time NAACP Image Award winner and he received an Honorary Oscar earlier this year.
