Former ‘Fresh Prince’ Actress Janet Hubert To Star In First Series After 32 Years
Looks like film and television actress Janet Hubert is making a comeback!
According to reports, Janet Hubert, 66, will be joining the cast of “Demascus,” AMC’s upcoming half-hour comedic sci-fi series. Tearrance Arvelle Chisholm created and wrote the series, which has six episodes for season one and is set to debut in 2023 on digital platforms AMC and AMC+.
Reportedly, “Demascus” is a series about life as an ordinary Black man in America today. The show follows Demascus, a 33-year-old man, who goes on a journey of self-discovery using an innovative new technology that allows him to experience different versions of his own life.
Janet Hubert’s character is Dr. Bonnetville, a psychotherapist with a quick wit and a smart mouth. Per reports, Hubert’s character uses her patented blend of apathy and cutting-edge technology to aid her patients on their quests for personal growth.
Hubert is best known for starring in the popular sitcom “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” with fellow co-star Will Smith, 53. Hubert appeared on the series from its first season in 1990 until the end of its third season in 1993.
As previously reported, the famed actress departed from the show just before its fourth season after having a fallout with Will Smith.
Hubert played the role of the beloved Vivian Banks (a.k.a Aunt Viv) during her time on the famed sitcom. ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ ran for an additional three seasons after Hubert’s exit. She was replaced by actress Daphne Maxwell Reid, 73.
