Wendy Williams Feels “Sickened” By Her Talk Show’s Cancelation After She Refused To Film A Goodbye Video For The Finale
It looks like Wendy Williams , 57, is still unhappy about how things have ended with her daytime talk show.
According to sources, the former queen of daytime TV is “incredibly hurt and sickened” by the way her reign on TV with The Wendy Williams Show has come to an abrupt end after 13 years. An insider said,
“I know Wendy is incredibly hurt right now. Last week was a tough week for her..It’s just horrible how everything ended.”
The source continued,
“Imagine if this was your baby that you’ve built all these years. How would you take it? And it is everywhere and it’s viral that it’s all over and it’s in your face- of course, she is hurt.”
After the final episode on Friday June 17, it didn’t take long before the iconic billboard that greeted The Wendy Williams Show’s live audience on 26 Street in Manhattan was removed just one business day after the finale was taped. A source close to production previously claimed that memorabilia from The Wendy Williams Show was discarded following the airing of the show’s bittersweet finale. A source close to the matter said:
“The wigs are still there since she didn’t come and get them, so they’re being thrown out.”
The infamous “Big Purple Chair” will sadly meet the same fate. The insider continued,
“The chair is just going to be thrown out…Production is not even bothering to try to donate the chair to a museum, like The View did with their original table after ten years.. They gave it to The Smithsonian.”
With Friday’s (June 17) episode being the last ever, viewers were hoping to see Wendy Williams make an appearance. Sadly, when that did not happen, fans quickly blamed the talk show for not having her back for the final broadcast.
While there was a tribute montage at the end of the episode, fans still weren’t pleased. The montage lasted about seven minutes, but viewers ripped the program for not making the whole finale one big tribute to Wendy.
While fans were upset not to see Wendy Williams in the final episode, sources revealed earlier this week that she refused to give a farewell message. An insider explained,
“They were not doing it live, but asked Wendy for pre-taped video..She still said no. She’s not at peace with what happened. She’s not happy with it.”
As previously reported, Wendy Williams was absent during the final 13th season of her show due to reported ongoing health issues. Sherri Shepherd is set to replace the series with her own talk show that will air this fall.
