While Idris Elba runs his own production company, Green Door Pictures, the actor has never owned a media business the size of Channel 4. Elba is best known for BBC drama Luther and HBO’s The Wire, along with film roles such as; Beast of No Nation, Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom , The Harder They Fall, Daddy’s Little Girls and several Marvel movies.
It looks like Idris Elba has some competition as it’s been reported that there are several other bidders for Channel 4 including British public service broadcaster ITV, Comcast, Paramount, as well as Discovery, and the French company Vivendi.
The British actor seems to be juggling a lot when it comes to his career and business. It was recently reported that Idris Elba is in talks once again to be the new James Bond! Despite being a fan favorite for the role, actor Idris Elba, took a step back from his run to replace Daniel Craig, 54, in the popular “James Bond” franchise for a non-leading role.
Producers had plans for the English actor to still appear in the next installment of the project, just as a villain. However, it now looks like his name is back in consideration to suit up as agent 007. Reportedly, producers have realized how popular the “Thor” actor is after carrying out secret market research.
