Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Said To Be Re-editing Comments Made About Prince William & His Wife, Kate, In Forthcoming Netflix Docuseries Due To The Queen’s Death
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly making some serious changes to their Netflix documentary!
Subsequent to their controversial decision to no longer act as senior members of The Royal Family, in 2020, Duke and Duchess of Sussex Prince Harry and Meghan Markle signed a huge, multi-year deal with the popular streaming giant.
Earlier this year, it was announced that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were in the process of producing an “at-home” docuseries with Netflix, letting the public in on their private-yet-paparazzi’d-out, day-to-day lifestyle.
Allegedly, they were aiming for the show to be released around the same time as Harry’s anticipated memoir, but that has since been pushed back out of respect for his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away at the top of this month.
Although Harry’s non-fiction work won’t speak of Queen Elizabeth II in a derogatory manner, claims stated that the British empire may have some “truth bombs” to worry about after its debut. The $20-million-dollar project will see Harry opening up about his childhood as well as other pieces of his life that he’s never spoken about. His book was slated for November, but due to needed time for revisions and takeaways, it’s looking more like a 2023 release, insiders revealed.
The source said:
“Of course, the Queen’s passing was something that was always speculated on when we started working on the book. When it comes down to it, there is absolutely no way the book can come out this year.”
Now, along with the autobiography’s delay is the Netflix docuseries. In the wake of Queen Elizabeth II’s demise, Harry and Markle have had to rethink some things in regards to the forthcoming program that will chronicle their lives behind the scenes of sovereignty.
Originally scheduled to air in December, after the fifth season of the Elizabeth-focused drama, The Crown, on Netflix, the unveiling has officially been pushed back for re-editing purposes. Reports claim that the couple wanted to remove or even “downplay” some of what was included about not only King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla but Harry’s brother, Prince William, and his wife, Kate, the new Princess of Wales.
The move is definitely raising eyebrows, as the Royal brothers have been known to be on shaky grounds for quite some time now. Also, this halt prolongs Harry’s father’s, King Charles, gifting of the prince and princess titles to the pair’s children, Archie (3) and Lilibet (2).
When discussing the series’ wait, a source said,
“Netflix has been keen to have the show ready to stream for December. There’s a lot of pressure on (Netflix CEO) Ted Sarandos, who has the relationship with Harry and Meghan, to get this show finished.”
We’re not sure why (exactly) the hoopla surrounding the documentary is happening. However, the plot (seemingly) thickens, because, in other news, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were demoted on The Royal Family’s website amid King Charles’ new monarch role. Additionally, a distant Harry was banned from wearing his military uniform at the Queen’s funeral with the rest of the family.
Hopefully, all works out… for the greater good.
